Old ST Patrick's Church

Located at 700 W Adams Street, Old ST Patrick's Church is one of the city's oldest and fastest-growing churches, largely due to its politically connected pastor, Father Jack Wall. The church is probably best known for its year-round list of social events for singles, including the ever popular World's Largest Block Party. This is in effect a weekend-long party, with famous rock bands participating, where Catholic singles can continuously flirt with each other. It is highly regarded as the best place in the world to find your perfect match, and there are endless couples who will vouch for that. ST Patrick's ascendancy in popularity, largely due to the social programes organized, is simply unrivalled. In 1983 it apparently had a paltry four members to its name. Twenty years down the line literally thousands join in. The fabulous steeple, which is domed, symbolizes the Eastern Church, while the spire symbolizes the Western Church. The stunning Celtic-patterned interior, which was originally built by parishioners over a century ago, has been recently restored to its former glory, and is worth the visit alone.
